Taunton School
The Brief
Taunton School engaged Balanced Energy to prepare a baseline report and strategic recommendations on their journey towards Net Zero in the summer of 2022.
The campus is large and complex and the school operates in a diverse way over its three sites – with students ranging from nursery age to 18 years old, from all corners of the globe.
The task ahead felt enormous to the team at Taunton School and our track record helping large campuses to achieve sustainable practices and reduce carbon emissions meant the management team sought our support.
Our task was to create a manageable, straightforward plan with clear strategic goals.
The Result

Now, with the ongoing support and advice of Balanced Energy, we will be using the recommendations of the report to inform our plan to create a challenging but achievable Carbon Net Zero strategy for our entire estate across the coming years.
It will be designed to allow every stakeholder in our school community to understand the ambition and how they can play their part in reaching those goals through their own behaviours. This will include staff, students, parents and suppliers as we seek to address our environmental responsibilities.”
